The typical steel grade is 17-4PH and PH13-8Mo, used for the manufacture of high strength corrosion resistant bearing components, such as engine bearing parts, fasteners, etc. working at 400℃. PH13-8Mo is widely used in aeronautical bearing corrosion resistant medium temperature structural parts.
The grades in this high speed steel comparison chart include M-2, M-42, PM M-4, PM M-48 and PM T-15. The hardness shown is the typical working hardness for each of the grades. High-speed steel grades include M-1, M-2, M-3 type 1, M3 type 2, M-4, M-7, M-35, M-42, M-48, T-1, T-4, T-8, and T-15.
High-strength steels are generally defined as having tensile strengths between 270–700 MPa (39–102 ksi). Ultra-high-strength steels (UHSS) are defined as steels with tensile strengths greater than 700 MPa (102 ksi). Advanced high-strength steels may start at 400 MPa (58 ksi).
The best known grade is Type 304, also known as 18/8 and 18/10 for its composition of 18% chromium and 8%/10% nickel, respectively. The second most common austenitic stainless steel is Type 316. The addition of 2% molybdenum provides greater resistance to acids and to localized corrosion caused by chloride ions.

The high tensile steel is the latent advancement in the construction field and is most popularly employed as supporting skeletons for the construction of large buildings and structures such as stadiums, skyscrapers and bridges.
Tensile strength is the ability of a material to resist being pulled apart. One common use of high tensile steel is in spring applications. For instance, the hooks attached to both ends of a bungee cord are produced from spring steel. They need to have high tensile strength as they will be subjected to extensions throughout their lifetime.
Strength of material is the capacity to resist a force, pressure or stress. Strength of mild steel is less than the high tensile steel. Strength of high tensile steel is more than mild steel. 05. Ultimate Tensile Strength
The ultimate tensile strength of mild steel varies from 600 to 800 N/mm 2. The ultimate tensile strength of high tensile steel is around 2000 N/mm 2. 06. Hardness

For some high strength steels, there is no visible yield point, however in that case the failure strain is significantly less. No, its 0.2% (it corresponds to the initial bump in the mild steel curve). The 2% line is probably showing some hysteresis, or the effect of work hardening. Probably I should change the graph to avoid confusion
Hence it is reasonable to use the steady-state test method for measuring the effective yield strengths of high tensile steel at elevated temperatures. Table 4. Reduction factors of effective yield strengths at elevated temperatures. Fig. 7. Reduction factors of effective yield strength at 0.2% offset strain. Fig. 8.

The minimum 10.5% chromium in stainless steels provides resistance to ~1,300 °F (700 °C), while 16% chromium provides resistance up to ~2,200 °F (1,200 °C). Type 304, the most common grade of stainless steel with 18% chromium, is resistant to ~1,600 °F (870 °C).
It encompasses several parts that define requirements for various grades and qualities of structural steel, including those with enhanced resistance to atmospheric corrosion (EN 10025-5) and those for high yield strength in quenched and tempered conditions (EN 10025-6).
Stainless steel is essentially a low carbon steel which contains chromium at 10% or more by weight. It is this addition of chromium that gives the steel its unique stainless, corrosion resisting properties.

The High Tensile Grade 10.9 Screw is a special type that does not need nuts to fix it onto other components. This grade of bolts have tensile strength upto 1040 minimum and yield strength up to 940MPa minimum. The Grade 10.9 Stainless Steel Bolt Material Properties make them applicable in engine parts and components.
High tensile bolts made of high-strength steel, or bolts that require greater pre-tightening force, can be called high-strength bolts. High-strength bolts are mostly used for the connection of bridges, rails, high-pressure and ultra-high pressure equipment. The fracture of this kind of bolt is mostly brittle fracture.
In basic terms, the tensile strength of a bolt refers to the maximum stress the bolt can withstand before breaking. Thus, the higher the tensile strength, the higher the weight a bolt can sustain and the higher its capacity to bear impact. High tensile bolts are used for high-stress fastening applications.
There are different systems of grading when it comes to bolts, which can cause a bit of confusion. The UK grades fasteners differently to the US – and you may sometimes see bolts with UK grading here. You might find bolts marked 8.8 or S, for example, while others are marked Grade 2 to 8, or marked with a series of three or six radial lines.

The ultimate tensile strength of the best steel is 3500 MPa, of the epoxy and carbon fiber composite 1275 MPa. This is considering an isotropic composite with capacity of resistance to mechanical stress in all directions. The best, unidirectional, anisotropic carbon fiber composite can reach 3000 MPa. This is still 500 MPa short of the best steel.
In general a high tensile strength steel is used when you need a small cross section of steel that can resist a high tensile (“pulling apart”) load. Why is the yield point phenomenon not observed if mild carbon steel is immediately reloaded, but reappears if the specimen is heated or left for several weeks before reloading?
Known in the old days as Wolfram, this very special metal has the highest tensile strength of any naturally occurring metal. Not used often in its natural state as it is brittle and prone to shattering under the impact. That is why it is alloyed with other metals and alloys to create even stronger alloys.
Tensile strength refers to the maximum amount of stress a material can withstand while being stretched or pulled without breaking, and is measured in MPa, as a force per unit area - the unit being a pascal (Pa)/megapascal (MPa). Since 2016, POSCO has been developing its GIGA steel for automotive application due to its unparalleled properties.
