Noodler's Black does exceptional on poor paper. As always, I recommend sampling, and with Noodler's, shaking the bottle before filling. Other than this ink, iron gall and pigment inks tend to do better than dyes (though every ink is unique), but both will require a pen that seals well to prevent evaporation (Eco is exceptional at that).
